संक्षिप्त विवरण – बिहार के प्रमुख जिलों में से एक बक्सर प्रदेश का अत्यंत प्राचीन व ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिकोंण से महत्वपूर्ण जिला है. यह बिहार की राजधानी पटना से 125 किमी की दूरी पर है. यह जिला उत्तर- प्रदेश के बलिया जिले के दक्षिण में रोहतास जिले एवं पश्चिम में उत्तर गाजीपुर जिले एवं पूर्व में भोजपुर जिले से घिरा हुआ है. प्राचीनकाल में इस जिले को “सिद्धाश्रम”, “करूष”, “वेदगर्भापुरी”, “तपोवन”, “चैत्रथ “, “व्याघ्रसर”, “बक्सर” आदि नामों से जाना जाता था. कई प्राचीन किवदन्तियों व मान्यताओं का गवाह रहा बक्सर सन् 17 मार्च 1991 में अपने मूल अस्तित्व में आया. इससे पहले यह भोजपुर जिले का उपखंड था.  इस जिले में 2 अनुमंडल एवं 11 प्रखंड है. बक्सर जिले के अंतर्गत बक्सर सदर और पुराने भोजपुर जिला के अंतर्गत डुमराव अनुमंडल में आता है. इस जिले का मुख्यालय बक्सर शहर के अंतर्गत स्थित है, जो कि बक्सर के मुख्य शहर के रूप में भी जाना जाता है. इतिहास – बक्सर जिला महज़ ऐतिहासिक ही नहीं बल्कि पौराणिक, सांस्कृतिक व आ Read more...

सहरसा डिस्ट्रिक्ट बिहार के पूर्वी दिशा में स्थित है. बिहार में कुल  38 डिस्ट्रिक्ट हैं जिनमें से एक सहरसा है. इसका निर्माण सन् 1 अप्रैल 1954 में हुआ. 2 अक्टूबर 1972 में यह कोशी प्रमंडल का मुख्यालय बन गया. सहरसा के उपप्रभाग सहरसा सदर और सिमरी बख्तियारपुर हैं. सहरसा 24 विकास खंडों से मिलकर बना है. राघोपुर, छतापुर,  बसंतपुर और निर्मली जिले यहां के उपखंड के अंतर्गत आते हैं. सहरसा को पारशर्मा भी कहा जाता है. कोसी नदी के पश्चिम में घिरे इस स्थान पर मछलियां,  दूध,  मखाना प्रचुर मात्रा में पाया जाता है. आमों की कुछ विदेशी किस्में और गर्मियों में लीची अधिक पाई जाती है. एतिहासिक परिदृश्य -इतिहास की बात करें तो यह सहरसा जिले के महिषी गांव शास्त्रार्थ के लिए प्रसिद्ध था. यहां पंडित मदन और आदि शंकराचार्य के बीच शास्त्रार्थ के लिए वाद-विवाद हुआ था. सहरसा पहले मिथिला राज्य का हिस्सा था. मिथिला के विस्तार के बाद यह मगध का हिस्सा बन गया. जिसका प्रमाण सिकलीगढ़, किशनगंज पुलिस स्टेशन के पास मौर्य स्तूप मिलने से लगाया जा सकता है. बिम्बिसार के कार्यकाल के दौरान यहां बौद Read more...

संक्षिप्त परिचय - कैमूर जिला भारत के 38 जिलों में से एक है। जिसका प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय, भभुआ में है। प्राचीनतम काल में 1991 से पहले यह रोहतास जिले का हिस्सा था। वैदिक तथा पुराणों के अनुसार, कैमूर की संस्कृति में, कोल ने कोल संस्कृति और कोल कैमूर साम्राज्य की स्थापना की थी। पौराणिक काल में, इस संस्कृति का विकास कोल वंशी कनक के पौत्र क्टतवर्य के पुत्र सहस्त्रार्जुन ने किया। जिसका संरक्षक असुर संस्कृति के रूप में परिवर्तन असुर राज मुण्ड द्वारा किया जाता था। कालान्तर में लोगों का मानना है कि बिहार राज्य में युद्ध संग्रामो के बाद शांति की स्थापना माता मुंडेश्वरी मंदिर के उदय से हुई।  वर्तमान में यह राज्य पश्चिम में उत्तर प्रदेश, पूर्व दिशा में पश्चिम बंगाल एवं दक्षिण में झारखंड से जबकि उत्तर दिशा में नेपाल की अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा से जुड़ा हुआ है। वहीं इस नगरी को बौद्ध तथा भिक्षुओं के ठहरने के स्थान के लिए "बौद्ध एवं मठों की नगरी" भी कहा जाता है। मठों के विहार करने के कारण इस सम्पूर्ण इलाके को "विहार" कहा जाने ल Read more...
